Bishop Cole
Bishop Kenneth E. Coles, son of the late Benny E. Coles and Dorean
Coles, was born on June 7, 1964. He is the Founder and Senior Pastor
of Lion of Judah Praise Temple, Inc. located in Baltimore, Maryland.
He is called upon to speak at conferences to share his success of
church-planting and visionary leadership. Through the Spirit-filled
ministry of this man, many have been set free from additions, lives
have been transformed, and believers have learned to seek God for
His purpose and forever be in pursuit of holiness.
Bishop Coles was educated in the Baltimore City Public System and
received a Bachelors of Science in Mental Health from Morgan State
University. In March 1984, he began his tour in the United States
Navy where he served for eight years. He is a skilled administrator,
insightful counselor and mentor. After a successful career in the
marketplace as a Baltimore City School Teacher, Youth Program Director
for Saint Ambrose Family Outreach Center, and Program Director for
Sylvan Education Solutions; Bishop Coles left secular employment
in October 2004 and began serving solely in Kingdom Building.
An anointed musician, a creative musical arranger and a gifted
composer, Kenneth began playing the piano and organ in church at
the age of 14. He has served as a musician or minister of music
in several assemblies and received a Letter of Commendation from
the Navy Admiral for his outstanding musical contributions in the
Armed Services. Bishop Coles is the beloved husband of Lady Ingla
Patrice Coles and the father of one two (2), Davon Mayo and the
newest addition to the family, Kadian Elese Coles.
Bishop Coles accepted Christ at an early age at the Good Shepherd
Baptist Church under the pastorate of the late Rev. Eugene V. Carter.
While in the Navy stationed on the USS John F. Kennedy, he received
the call to the ministry of preaching the Gospel. On October 5,
1990, under the pastorate of the late Rev. Dr. Robert C. Hunt, he
preached his initial sermon. On October 15, 1994, Bishop Coles was
ordained as an Elder, and was consecrated to the Bishopric on November
27, 2004.
After 10 years of faithful service at the Good Shepherd Baptist
Church, Bishop Coles received god’s mandate to plant a church
now known as the Lion of Judah Praise Temple. The first worship
service was held on August 12, 2001, at the Dr. Martin Luther King,
Jr. Elementary School. One year later, Bishop Coles lead his congregation
to its present location. In four years, this progressive ministry
has made its mark in Southwest Baltimore with effective ministry;
various outreach programs, and a consistent presence in their community.
